Getting to Tegalalang Rice Terrace
As it is located outside of Ubud centre, you will need a vehicle to get to Tegalalang Rice Terrace from there. It will take approximately 30 minutes to reach there by a scooter or motorbike depending on the traffic. Alternatively, you can hire a driver which shouldn’t cost you more than IDR 150k.
Best time to go
To make life easier for yourself, go early in the morning when the weather is cooler. You will hopefully avoid most of the crowd so that you can get your perfect shot of this gorgeous rice terrace!
You can also visit it after the mid-day sun is over if you are looking for a sunset shot, but expect it to be slightly more crowded.
What to expect
There will be shops and restaurants overlooking the Tegalalang Rice Terrace so don’t worry too much about it being secluded or remote since it is a popular attraction.
Wear comfortable shoes and attire as you will be walking quite a bit if you want to explore the area. Some of the locals might ask for donations (around IDR 5k) which we think is worthwhile since they will allow you access to the deeper areas of the rice terrace.
We hope you will enjoy Tegalalang Rice Terrace as much as we did!
